Head's Welcome

In This Section

It is with immense pride that I welcome you to Carrdus School. Carrdus is a school with a difference; a school that places equal value on the academics and the great outdoors, traditional values and innovative teaching techniques, working hard and playing hard. At Carrdus, children can be children. Carrdus children are engaged, curious and alive to the limitless possibilities of our world. Our focus is on preparing every child for the next stage of their educational journey and beyond and our outstanding academic outcomes and exceptional children are testament to this.

Carrdus is an independent preparatory school for boys and girls aged 3 to 11 situated on the Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire borders. Owned by Tudor Hall School, we build the essential foundations for girls to excel at Tudor Hall aged 11 to 18 and boys to shine in a range of future schools in the local area. Our children thrive in eleven acres of beautiful grounds which include a swimming pool, forest school, art studio, sports hall, tree house and sandpit.

Our striking main building overlooks our secluded grounds and contains a self-contained nursery for our Carrdus Caterpillars and Butterflies, music room, computing room, science lab, dining hall and hallway with a roaring fire around which to gather in the colder months. The Carrdus spirit can be felt throughout our extraordinary school and every member of our community is rightfully proud of the difference that we make.

The future may look quite different from today’s world and our Carrdus Pathway ensures that every child has the skills that will enable them to thrive. The Pathway develops the attributes of imagination, resilience, independence, aspiration and empathy. As a community, we are united by these attributes, and every child and adult feels a deep sense of belonging. Our children benefit from world-class teaching, both from their experienced form and specialist teachers, and our extra-curricular provision complements and broadens their school day experience; from roller skating to ceramics, den building to ukulele, there is something for every child.

Please do come and feel the Carrdus spirit for yourselves, either on one of our regular Open Days or on a personal visit. I very much look forward to welcoming you and discussing how we can enable the best possible start to your child’s educational journey.
